Students at all levels face many stressful challenges during the day-to-day grind of going to school. Anxiety and even depression are not uncommon among student populations, especially at post-secondary levels such as college and university.

Many of these students juggle heavy course loads with full personal schedules that include extra-curricular activities and part-time work commitments. It can be a hectic and overwhelming experience for even the keenest of students. But it’s important to remember that no matter how stressed you are, help and support is always readily available.

Lori Verbeek of Hamilton is a certified facilitator of a unique process known as The Work of Byron Katie. This world-wide experience is a way of identifying and questioning the thoughts that cause all of the anger, fear, depression, addiction and violence in the world. It’s designed to help participants experience the happiness of undoing unproductive thoughts and allowing their minds to return to a true, awakened creative and peaceful nature.

The Work by Byron Katie can be viewed as a more natural solution to many of the complex problems and issues faced by young people in today’s fast-paced world. In some instances, it can be used as healthy alternative to or work with medications and other invasive health treatments.

Lori is extremely passionate about sharing The Work with students and others who may benefit from this program. Applying it in her own life, Lori has learned to cope with a multitude of everyday issues and challenges. “I truly believe through doing The Work there is nothing in this world that I can’t deal with,” she says.

And having achieved this personal success, she’s now excited to help others by going into schools and hosting professional student workshops based on The Work.  Lori invites schools to contact her to discuss programs designed to meet specific student needs.
